I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to finally have this creativity project underway! I have had the idea of using boxes to create sets for about a month, but it took me a while to figure out what theme I wanted to make the sets. Chris had a great idea... daydreams! It seemed perfect to bring these back to the kids and let them experience it big kid style.
This month Abby has been taking a huge interest in space and the moon. We have been learning about it in school, and even broke out the telescope for her to get a closer look. Because of this, the moon seemed like the perfect place for Abby and Alex to visit in their first daydream.
As I mentioned before, most of the materials for each set will be made out of packing materials. For those elements that are not made out of packing materials, I am hoping to only use paper. While I would love to only use packing paper, sometimes it's just a bit too crinkly... trust me, I tried that first.
For this set, the rocket, and moon, the earth, and the stars are all made out of cardboard boxes. The backdrop is seamless paper and the space helmets are reused grocery bags. I think we pulled off our first set, what do you think?
